Job Summary
We are looking for a experienced chef who will to take in charge of the kitchen The Chef will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and provides professional leadership and direction to kitchen personnel where required. The Chef also needs to ensure that recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the restaurant’s specifications and has a commitment to quality. The Chef is responsible to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitised workspace.
Tasks & responsibilities
✓ Ensuring food orders are prepared in timely period
✓ Modify and create new menus that meet new trends and quality standards
✓ Maintaining consistency of menu items in presentation and quality
✓ Follow recipes and presentation specifications
✓ Plan and direct food preparation
✓ Maintain food safety records
✓ Works a part of the small team to coordinate the smooth running of the kitchen
✓ Ensuring kitchen staff levels are appropriate to meet business requirements
✓ Actively participating as a member in the management team
Qualifications & experience
✓ At lease 2 years experience in Japanese restaurant environment (BBQ restaurant experience preferred)
✓ Managing, leading and training and setting clear goal for a small team
✓ Produce Japanese cuisine including tempura, hot dishes and sauces to our high standard
✓ Be able to communicate in English
