About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and talented electrician to join a fast paced and growing FMCG food manufacturing company as a key member of the maintenance team.  By applying your exceptional experience and creativity you will be a significant contributor to our continued strong performance and long-term strategy.

As the site electrician you will have the primary day-to-day responsibility to support production by carrying out general breakdown and preventative maintenance work. You will need to be familiar with CMMS and capable of working around complex production machinery. You will need to demonstrate a high level of skill around fault finding combined with proficiency in PLC programming.  As a proactive team player you will also form part of a high-performance team working towards a world class Asset Management strategy and finding ways to add value to our business.

You will be responsible for

• Overall electrical performance and compliance of plant and equipment across the site
• Breakdown response and preventative maintenance activities
• Monitor and control systems and processes to optimize throughput and productivity.
• Apply effective problem-solving techniques to resolve situational/systemic problems.
• Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to enable business efficiencies and reduce production unit costs.
• Coaches teams in autonomous maintenance (skill transfer to Process Operators)
• Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Ensure and maintain GMP/HACCP and ISO/SQF Compliance standards
• Manage relations with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Participate and lead projects in the rollout of leading edge technology to support our strategic vision

Candidate Profile

You are an energetic, experienced and qualified Electrician. Ideally coming from a food manufacturing business, you enjoy working in a dynamic and fast paced environment and are looking to grow your manufacturing experience in a hands on role that allows you to deliver significant value to the business.  Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you are driven and show strong rapport building skills cross functionally.

 To be successful in this role you will need:

To succeed in this role you will have quality experience as a Maintenance Electrician coupled with the following;

• A class electrical license. Dual trade is desirable however a strong Mechanical aptitude will be advantageous.
• Preferred 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of preventative and breakdown maintenance with the ability to manage the preventative maintenance program including detailed and accurate data entry in the CMMS.
• You will be willing to learn new systems, challenge yourself daily and identify opportunities for improvement on efficiency levels.
• Flexible with working hours and accessible outside of normal roster
• Strong communication.
• High level of fault finding ability.
• A strong food manufacturing background.
• Ability to work in a fast, high volume production environment.
