About Agio Hair

Agio Hair is an established Brisbane hairdressing group operating two salons in the Sunnybank area — Sunnybank Hills and Sunnybank. We are known for precision cutting, advanced colour work, Korean and Japanese hair-design techniques, and personalised client care. Over the past year, both branches have seen continued growth in client numbers and demand for premium, trend-driven hairdressing services.

To keep pace with this demand and to strengthen our senior technical capacity across both locations, we are now seeking multiple experienced Senior Hair Designers to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis.

Why we need you

Our clientele increasingly request advanced and contemporary hair services — including balayage, blonding, colour correction, digital perms, Korean and Japanese perm techniques, permanent straightening, keratin treatments and personalised style transformations. At the same time, our trading footprint has expanded, including Sunday trading at our Sunnybank branch and planned growth in premium service capacity at Sunnybank Hills.

We require additional full-time senior stylists who can act as the branch’s senior technical specialist, handle the most complex appointments, deliver premium consultations, and support quality standards on the salon floor. These are new positions created by business growth — they are not replacements of existing staff.

The role

This is a senior-level hairdressing position for an experienced stylist who can deliver advanced technical services and premium client consultations. You will be one of the branch’s senior technical specialists, responsible for the most complex colour, chemical and design work, while supporting quality standards and mentoring junior stylists on the salon floor.

This is a hands-on hairdressing role, not a management or salon-manager position.

• Employment type: Full-time, ongoing
• Hours: 38.5 hours per week, rostered across weekdays and weekends (including Sundays where required by branch trading hours)
• Salary: AUD $80,080 per annum plus superannuation — fixed guaranteed annual salary

What you’ll do

• Perform advanced and creative ladies’ and men’s haircutting, including precision cutting, texturising, layering, dry cutting and trend-driven styles.
• Deliver complex colour services including balayage, blonding, foiling, colour correction, root shadowing, colour melting, toning and creative colour applications.
• Perform chemical texture services including digital perms, Korean and Japanese style perms, permanent waves, straightening and smoothing treatments.
• Conduct strand tests, scalp assessments and hair-integrity checks before chemical services, and adjust formulas to suit individual client needs.
• Provide in-depth consultations for premium and transformation clients, analysing face shape, hair texture, density, skin tone, lifestyle and maintenance commitment.
• Interpret online, social media, Korean, Japanese and global hairstyle references and translate them into wearable, personalised results.
• Deliver personalised style transformations rather than routine maintenance services.
• Maintain detailed client records and photographic references for colour formulas, cuts and results where appropriate.
• Act as a technical reference point on the salon floor, providing informal guidance to junior and regular stylists on advanced techniques, colour formulation and corrective approaches.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness and comply with WHS and salon hygiene standards.

About you

• Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent qualification, or demonstrated equivalent senior salon experience.
• Substantial professional salon experience performing senior hairdresser or senior stylist duties, including a proven track record of advanced technical work.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in cutting, styling, colouring (including balayage, blonding, foiling and colour correction) and chemical texture services.
• Strong client consultation skills, particularly with premium clientele seeking transformation services.
• Ability to interpret trend references and deliver personalised, high-quality results.
• Experience with a variety of hair textures and types, and with Korean, Japanese or contemporary perm, colour and styling techniques.
• Professional, reliable and committed to maintaining high technical and service standards.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.

Highly regarded (not essential)

• Experience in a fast-paced salon serving a diverse, trend-conscious client base.
• Portfolio or photographic examples of advanced colour, correction or transformation work.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior stylists/hairdresser in a non-managerial capacity.
